LIVING THE DOLCE VITA
How wonderful is jumping back to past times? Shrugging off the clothes of today and experiencing the emotions of a past way of living, which can still feel so modern. Feeling the wind in the hair and listening to the vintage car engine’s rumble and roar. To understand how, in past decades, the car was not only a means of transport, but also a flow of energy to absorb, an experience of strength and vigour, an ecstatic journey. A Vespa or a Lambretta to feel like you are on a movie set and making fun of the speed of modern times.
Amalia likes wandering through old flea markets and to smell old objects’ history. Maybe she can find a hat that once belonged to someone who might have been her dear great grandma. Amalia likes walking slowly in alleys without limitations, letting herself be guided by intuition and curiosity. And it is in this way that Amalia has covered far and wide the lakes area, in an original Fifties Topolino car, where she can squeeze in sun glasses, handbags, wines, vintage reproduction paintings and ancient books of a long lost era, but whose memory remains untouched. Exactly what Amalia would call ‘love’. Amalia has just returned home to Argentina with a treasure trove of original Garda Lake pieces that live on today thanks to the people who once lived here.
